Your Parrot is Like a Human Child in a Different Body
If you pay close attention to your parrot or parrots, they are just like human children in a different body. As a matter of fact, any animal is like a child! Pay very close attention now. My sister and mom use to tell me I was crazy until I showed them an article in "Bird Talk Magazine" May 2005 Issue - Top 3 Intelligent Birds.! It was scientificallly proven that a parakeet can have a vocabulary of 800 words and know what he is talking about! That means that the bird can have a converstation with you! The same study was done with an African Grey and a Cockatoo. That means that any bird is smart - Even a chickadee! I believe it too. Did you ever observe wild birds? Just observing your parrot or parrots will give you the answer. Observe their body language if they don't talk. I am a lousy teacher and my cockatiels don't talk english, but they are constantly cheaping at me for attention to play and be petted. I will be adding more to this article soon. SAFE KITCHEN SAFE BIRD I would never bring my birds into the kitchen because it is far too dangerous for them. If nothing is turned on, and no one is cooking, then it is safe, unless you have a cealing fan or any kind of fan. I keep my birds in my bedroom and shut the door, and I know they are safe. I have read about people cooking with their bird on their shoulder. DON'T DO THIS!!! IT IS STUPID AND DANGEROUS!!! PUT YOUR BIRD OR BIRDS IN A SAFE ROOM AND SAFE IN THEIR CAGE! Do not use strong cleaning solutions around your birds. They can poison your sweet hearts and break your heart. I use ECO friendly products to clean with. But they can still be very strong and irritating. Keep your birds safe in a separate room in their cage. When you are not cleaning, don't forget to keep your birds where the main traffic is in your home (away from drafts and windows). Birds are very social and need your company. I clean my birds cage with DAWN w/ Bleach. There is such a small content of bleach in the DAWN that it is completely safe to use. I also us antibacterial soap.
